Berlin, 31.12.2020 Resolutions

We prepared everything well so nothing can go wrong with the New Year: not only did we bake fortune cookies, Mia even wrote the messages for allof them. I personally enjoyed mine: "Even a skyscraper once started out as a basement". After that, we poured leed to see what else 2021 would bring. Tobi poured an island implying that a "wish becomes true", Moritz poured a flower vase "a nice friendship". Mia poured a mushrrom implying "luck through diligence". I was at first very happy pouring an actual cat, but was not to keen on its meaning "Don`t be so stubborn!" We hope everyone will have a happy new year!

Berlin, 09.01.2021 DIY

The project was selfmade slime. The first recipe (glue, baking soda and contact lense liquid) was quite gluey and not sticky at all, we had to throw all of it away. The second recipe (just corn starch and hot water) turned out quite well, even though it resembled modelling clay more than it resembled slime. We were pleased to built a winter landscape with it!

Berlin, 09.01.2021 Galette de rois

The galette de rois, also known as three king's cake, is a cake traditionally eating to celebrate epiphany. Its form and ingredients are variable, but in most cases a small figurine often said to represent the Christ Child, is hidden inside. After the cake is cut, whoever gets the figurine wins a prize. Hungchi got to wear the golden crown for the whole afternoon!

Berlin, 16.01.2021 Puppet show

Today, we first watched a puppeteers play on environmental pollution. Afterwards, we designed puppets made of old socks and imagined short dialogues for them. Farah was especially proud to participate in an interview with the local media with her mum. Mia and I enjoyed going out and meeting actual people!

Berlin, 27.03.2021 Colouring eggs

During Lenten season, catholic people were not eating meat or eggs, but chicken were still laying eggs every day. To preserve those eggs, they were coloured in various colours so people knew which ones they had to eat first. We had fun imagining patterns!
