It was my Christmas gift for Tobi and Mia, but we all ended up going. The weather was just perfect, and the landscape magical. For the first time, we saw larches budding out in spring time. It was the first kind of holiday since last summer and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Due to Corona, we were not able to visit Mascha and Dirk after their second daughter Roos was born last January. Also due to Corona, the regulations of Mias school concerning the professional practical training were adjusted. So Mia took the chance to spend her time with her godmother and her family. And I was the lucky one taking her there and visiting Leo and Thorb on my way back home.

These months, I am technically spending all of my time preparing comprehensive teaching plans with competence-oriented approaches. I thereby create great lessons, but it makes me wonder: I spend approximately two weeks preparing for just one individual lesson. But I have to teach 31 lessons a week. How on earth do I prepare for the other 30 lessons, if I don`t have any time left?

One of the most fascinating plants in our garden: A faecal smell attracts small flies that are to be trapped by a ring of hairs above the male flowers. The insects are trapped beneath and are dusted with pollen before escaping and carrying the pollen to the spadices of other plants, where they pollinate the female flowers. Once the plant is pollinated, the small hairs wither away and the trapped insects are released.
