Quite some years ago I remember Trieste being the first city on a family trip where we left the kids in the apartment to have dinner without them. They were happy with Chinese sushi and Tobis ipad, we were happy with a traditional Italian trattoria serving Spaghetti mix mare. We were always looking forward to come back one day. So this Easter break we took the opportunity.

Motovun, 07.04.2023 On a truffle hunt

We did not realize before how close Trieste is to Croatia. But for Easter, we wanted to participate in an activity and were surprised it is actually possible to go on a truffle hunt with truffle dogs. So that`s what we did then, around a picturesque city named Motovun. We did find some black ones. And we ate even more for lunch afterwards!

That`s what happens when you ask AI where to stop on our way home. We found the Czech town of Krumlov, which was just as stunning as Salzburg was.
