Berlin, 22.04.2023 Wild boar

To our dismay, a wild boar visits our front garden regularly. It especially likes tulip bulbs, the bigger the better. This year, I was therefore fast in removing the withered bulbs. But the wild boar still came back and ate most of our camas instead. We try to think positive, since it also helps loosening the ground and we have one more reason to buy new plants each year.

The first years, Fridolin was still taller than his pine tree. This year it is obvious the tree wins the growth competition from now on.

For a couple of days I visited my parents, and it was nice to be reminded of the tradition of maypoles. If you like someone, you secretly put a birch tree in front of your favorite person's house on the night before May 1st, and decorate it with colourful masking tape. Even two weeks later, this still looks beautiful! Apart from that, my dad bended his finger, so me and my sister spent fathers day with him in the famous Aachen Klinikum. Luckily he was able to leave soon so that we still had time to walk the way of the cross in Moresnet.

You can`t meet good friends too often! Especially old friends. So it was a nice surprise that after my short trip to Duesseldorf to catch up with Uli, Steffi and Mascha, my kindergarden friend Ursi came to visit Berlin.

For four weeks, Audrey stayed with our family as a guest student. It was fascinating for us what was most fascinating for her: she had never used public transport, and never seen a bike lane bigger than the car lane. She said in San Diego, everyone goes everywhere by car.
