Berlin, 26.06.2011 Summer fete II

It's a tradition in Mias Kinderhaus that each summer the children have to prepare a theatre play for their parents - but the parents in exchange have to prepare a theatre play for their children as well! This year, the kids chose "The story of the fat pancake" and the parents chose "Petterson and Findus". Thanks everyone for the wonderful afternoon, and Tobi for taking such wonderful pictures!

Berlin, 27.06.2011 Reunion +7.5

Mareike came to visit Berlin with her two sons Pepe and Jonne, and Stephie and Anne joined in our reunion! It's been at least eight years since we all met each other, and none of us had had any kids! The weirdest thing though was, sitting in our garden having lunch, chatting with a bunch of kids running around us did just feel like something we do every day - it was a very special feeling we could still easily connect with one another after all.

Berlin, 10.07.2011 Ayi visiting

Finally, after a long first year in Berlin, our Ayi came to visit and stay with us for a month. It was nearly as fascinating to watch her getting accustomed to Germany as it was for us in the first month after moving to Shanghai to find out how things work there. As we were mostly impressed by the highrise buildings and the huge crowds of people everywhere, Ayi was mostly impressed by the abundance of trees and the infinite vastness of the sky. We were very happy to have her here with us!
