Berlin, 20.04.2012 Turning eight

To host birthday parties each year is an enormous excitement. This year for Moritz, we decorated eggcups, went on a treasure hunt and sat around a fire simply barbecueing bread-on-a-stick and sausages. No matter how difficult the preparation, the weather seems to determine the course.

As a farewell trip to the preschoolers, Mia left home for three days to visit Gut Tornow, an animal farm that accomodates children groups. They had stable weather and a great time, while Moritz enjoyed being on his own for two long afternoons.

Luckily, this season Mia fell in love with asparagus as did her parents ages ago - we went to the best asparagus restaurant and enjoyed the only vegetable growing so well in Brandenburgs sandy ground.

Kinderhaus, 17.06.2012 The jungle book

Another june, another Kinderhaus summer festival. This year, the kids performed "Benni looks after his brother", while the parents staged "The jungle book". In contrast to the chaotic rehearsals and improvised costumes, it was great fun and I am looking forward to watch next years play as a guest!
