Kassel, 30.06.2012 Documenta 13
Who of you remembers the pictures of Mia, not yet one year old, in front of a huge field of red poppies? That was in summer 2007, while visiting the Documenta 12. Five years later, Kassel rises again out of oblivion, and welcomes artists as well as tourists from all over the world. We managed to take a two day tour, which was not enough but better than nothing!

Another day well spent in Brandenburg, southeast of Berlin. We visited an open-air museum where glass is still blown and a wild animal park with a stunning collection of outsourced former zoo and circus animals. Despite the presence of tigers, lions, bears and lynxs, and a truly amazing show of free flying raptors, the kids were as fascinated by common deer, chickens, goats and ducks.

To Chinese people, this might be a very strange story to hear. My friend Stephie, in love with her boyfriend since about 1999, had to kids with him, a boy in 2008 and a girl in 2010. They finally got married last year. And since they only invited their closest relatives and a couple of very good friends, they organised a big wedding party for this July. Despite sharing house with her partner since years and parenting kids, and being officially married already, her girl friends still organized a stag party. We spent a day in a sauna world with the opportunity to take a swim in the adjacent lake and it was so relaxing and fun!

Being absolutely best friends for their first year in kindergarten, it was a great pleasure for Mia to welcome Lia at our home. And it was a great pleasure to us to welcome Xiaoli and Isa along with her!
Duesseldorf, 04.08.2012 Reunion
It took us approximately half a year to plan, but in the end, we all made it to Duesseldorf to meet up with our best friends from school time. I had not met Steffi for three or four and Mascha for at least seven years, and looking back on the great great evening we spent together I don't really understand why it took us so long! I hope for a follow-up in the near future!
