Berlin, 11.08.2012 First day at school!

Since born in october, school starts earlier for Mia than for Moritz, who was already six when being enrolled.

We had a lot of extra activities in the first school week, a seahorse swimming award course starting, sending Tobi off to Shanghai for a probably long time, but the biggest challenge was Moritz' participation in the pigeon revue of his school circus.

It was a lovely afternoon, despite the heat, and it was far too difficult for me to decide on which photos to post. I just liked all of them embodying the sun and the blue sky and the vastness of abandoned airport and hope you do so, too. Thanks Corny for visiting!

Berlin, 31.08.2012 Missing China

I don't regret our decision to move back to Germany, but I really DO miss China - at least now and then. I miss the daily chatting with taxi drivers, tailors and DVD vendors, and I have rare moments walking the quiet streets of our neighbourhood where I get homesick for the daily dirty colourful mess of Shanghai. So I enjoyed this evening with the "Red little blossoms" a lot. It reminded me of both - good and bad - lots of sparkling costumes on the one hand, brutally trained kids on the other.
