A small museum with nice cafŽ and temporary exhibitions - this time we visited 'Home Of The Future' by Werner Aisslinger. I liked his ideas of upcycling - building furniture out of idle books, farming vegetables on fish excrement and growing willows into chairs. A great place to spend Sunday afternoons!

Berlin, 07.06.2013 Home memorial

Since the buildings next to our old and new home have been renovated, taking a walk here feels like a turn back in time: We actually live right in the middle of a well-preserved late 1920s building complex, and what a great work of urban planning and architecture it is! I am deeply grateful to have been so lucky to find an environment like that, and hope for more projects (especially in Shanghai, where so much was lost while we were living there) to be preserved like that.

Brodowin, 08.06.2013 Oekodorf

The German expression 'Oekodorf' might be translated as 'ecological village' - we visited a place in Northern Brandenburg that commits itself to producing vegetables, dairy and meat biologically. We were impressed by the many many people that joined this special day, and enjoyed just watching cows eating and digesting. It was good to see where 'our' regional products come from and why we should try to consequently buy them!

Berlin, 09.06.2013 Emma and Franz

Finally. After long months of searching and long weeks of waiting we extended our family today and took Emma and Franz home. The two little rabbits brought a lot of joy not only to us, but also to various neighbouring kids. Good to have them!
