We spent time in our hometowns each summer, but I can`t remember one being steadily as sunny and blue-skied as this years- we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Aachen, 13.07.2013 Border triangle

My parents were given a book about walking tours in the border triangle of Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. And what a surprise it was to try some of them! We had a lot of fun collecting bunches of flowers and enjoying the view from the 'dutch mountains'. Another delight was a stopover on our way home in Cologne at the Ludwig collection.

Senftenberg, 19.07.2013 Camping

My friends Annett and Nadja from Shanghai had the great idea of meeting at a camping site somewhere in the middle of Berlin and Dresden, and my sister joined us completing our group to four women, four girls and four boys. It was special for all our kids since it was the first time camping for them, pitching a tent (and sleeping in it) and cooking on a camping stove... and we had a fabulous time swimming in the adjacent lake and just strolling around.

For the third year in a row, my sister has been celebrating her birthday with me, this year we went to the Tempelhof airfield and to a Sichuan restaurant. A great memory to us that the kids behaved well and concluded 'The food was just tasty and the people friendly, we would like to come here again!' If it always had been THAT easy!...

Berlin, 01.08.2013 Marking off marriage

Mia had for long regretted that Adele knew Hans longer than she did herself and that she couldn't claim on marrying her close friends groom-to-be. Now she is happy to announce she found someone else she has fallen in love with - her best friend Kai. Problem solved, at least for now.

Nordwestuckermark, 10.08.2013 Daniel and Marie

A long awaited celebration. Daniel, my fellow student, found his love, Marie, in Norway and the two of them came to Germany to tie the knot. After a great party at a great castle (Schloss Kroechlendorff) we went and explored the beautiful Uckermark with Max, Henrike and Emilia.
