Offenbach, 04.02.2014 Exploring Southern Hesse

Last year, we used the Berlin winter holidays to celebrate Karneval. Good thing that we did, because the dates rarely match. This year, also a first time, we left our home to celebrate my youngest nephews birthday who turned four on fourth of february. Happy birthday, Lennart!

Muschenheim, 05.02.2014 Daniels "farm"

Our close friend Daniel has been working at the 'restaurant of the wholy stone' for a while, and it was definitely time for a visit. We used the opportunity to explore the grounds, feed the free range chicken with boiled potatoes and collect their days ration of eggs. I learned that even meat and eggs marked as 'bio' does not mean that the chicken are spared the cruel procedure of their beaks being cropped to avoid the birds hurting one another. (A beak has approximately the same amount of nerves as our index finger has!) And we got to know a movable home with its ups and downs. Thanks for showing us around!

Buedingen, 06.02.2014 A medieval town

My close friend Frauke moved away from Berlin while we were living in China, and a visit to her new home was long overdue. I haven't even met Maja, her younger dauther, aged four already. The small town of Buedingen, built in medieval times, left a charming impression on all of us!

Kassel, 07.02.2014 Practicing old habits

We also spent some days in Kassel, of course, and drew pictures, enlarged the landscape for the electric trains, went swimming and watched the opening ceremony of the Russian Olympic Winter games in Sotchi together.
