Berlin, 01.10.2017 Eleven
With a squirrel shirt and fresh self-made rolls, we had a bright day!

Berlin, 03.10.2017 Osmanthus
China memories.

Bremen, 22.10.2017 Universum
Exactly two years ago, my classmate Katha and her family took a spontaneous decision and visited us in Berlin. It was finally time for a return visit. Because of the foul weather, we started the day in the 'Universum', the local technical museum. It was quite modern compared to the Berlin Technical Museum, with a huge exhibition on human senses. We especially liked the 3D pin sculpture (Mia and Hannah tried around a hundred different postures) and the various animations controlled by movement. Then we took a city tour and had a look at the 'Bremen town musicians' before heading to the annual fair, the Bremen Freimarkt. It was the first roller coaster ride I took in a while, and it made me so dizzy I couldn`t join the others in riding the Ferris wheel afterwards. We had a great time!

Walsrode, 23.10.2017 Bird park
Being the first visitors on a wet day, the lorys welcomed us more than warmly. Dozens of them wanted to be fed with nectar.

Pfalz, 28.10.2017 Wine tour
Tobi and Moritz visited Uschi and Rolf, then the zoo in Frankfurt, and bought wine in Burrweiler. On their way back, they visited Bamberg.

Berlin, 31.10.2017 Halloween
We invited Eva and her extended family for Halloween. For her kids, Lovis and Ella, it was the first Halloween celebration ever. They went home with tons of candies and the promise, it wouldn`t be their last time participating!

Berlin, 01.11.2017 Tricyrtis
Our newest acquisition for the shady garden: toad lilies. Blooming in late autumn. Exceptionally beautiful!

Berlin, 03.11.2017 Hurricane factory
Almost a year after buying the voucher Mia and I finally made it to the newly opened Hurricane factory, where you can find the biggest wind tunnel in Germany. At 5.2 meters in diameter and 15 meters in height, it was quite an experience to float in winds up to 280 km per hour. Mia was a lot better in floating, whereas I did a better job in sticking to the first rule: always smile!

Wolfsburg, 04.11.2017 Exploratorium
Visiting Leo and Thorb in Wolfsburg. Always a big feast, this time with exotic fruit and with raclette.

Berlin, 17.11.2017 Young Americans
How much can happen in 72 hours? We welcomed Jake, the stage manager of the Young Americans at our home and took him out to Kreuzberg on the first night, having drinks followed by eating french fries and Currywurst at the most popular spot in town in the middle of the night. On Saturday, Moritz participated in a performance training, followed by a self-made Sushi preparation on the second night. The big show took place on the third night, and Jake left the next morning. What an extreme experience. We hope one day he`ll be back, and not as busy as he was.

Berlin, 13.12.2017 Cooking class
Part I: Sushi

Part II: Pizza

Part III: Christmas Cookies

Berlin, 22.12.2017 Almost Christmas
This year, Christmas holidays started early, but the typical advent feeling did not really arise. My uncle died only weeks after a cancer diagnosis, and being very busy at school I did not even have the chance for a proper goodbye. Luckily we did not have any plans apart from spending time with each other, preparing food and sleeping long. And we got the chance to catch up with Henrike, Jessica and Katinka!
