Lucky me: Our Berlin schools close for winter holidays at the same time the Rhineland is celebrating carnival. Last time we participated was in 2013, far too long ago. I dressed as a fancy Russian and enjoyed meeting my carnival partner Eva (even though we still did not manage to buy proper Umbridge/Lockhart costumes).

I also enjoyed watching my nephew Lennart dressing up crazily in whatever he could get his hands on.

Finally, I enjoyed going out with my husband, my sister and brother-in-law. We had a funky time.

Aachen, 24.02.2018 20 years?

It`s been 15 years since I actually visited my parents "on my own" meaning without kids accompanying me. And it`s been over twenty years I finshed school! Far too long a time without any kind of reunion party. Thanks to Corinna, and to Judith, we finally managed it this year and caught up, first in our old school St. Ursula, then at a restaurant, and in a pub. I thoroughly enjoyed myself spending a day with my parents and another with my most beloved school friends. So happy to have some liberties back.

Prague, 24.02.2018 Meanwhile at home....

Tobi took the opportunity to spend the same weekend with the kids in Prague. They had a look at the famous Nepomuk bridge (Moritz`s middle name), and I think apart from the really cold weather they had a great time.

We waited for so long this year. It was not really cold but not really warm either. The whole winter consisted of a long row of grey and ugly days of uncomfortable weather. Now March has already begun, everyone longing for spring, and winter took it`s last chance to show itself from it`s most beautiful side. Ice cold but sunny.
