We loved to spend the autumn holidays in France last year and hoped for good weather for this year, too. Instead of visiting the Bretagne again, Tobi chose a place close to the Cote d'azur. How lucky we were - again. The weather was perfect, the food was perfect, the place was perfect. It felt like an extension of summer, and the blue sky and the sun made it easy for us to let go of everyday stress and to relax and enjoy.

A bustling and very diverse city. The funny moment: while drinking our first coffee, I put a picture of Marseille in my status. A colleague answered right away: If you are in Marseille, go to that bakery and eat some cookies. I checked the location in google and it was just 1 min by foot. So we had a small bag of Navettes and they were delicious! Thanks, Coco!

Great expectations, because of the song. Never too good. The bridge in Avignon was not too special, but the Pont du garde was just spectacular!

Le Puy-Sainte-Reparade, 27.10.2025 Chateau La Coste
Hiking through the Calanques was quite stunning, too, but visiting the Chateau La Coste was simply perfect. We had heard about it in an audiobook, and since it was not too far from the place we stayed, we drove by. It reminded us of the Documenta, with lots of art shattered in a beautiful landscape. Combined with sunshine and blue sky and a marvelous lunch we could not have asked for more.
Porquerolles, 28.10.2025 Last day of summer
This was the last warm day with loads of sunshine, so a lot of people had the same idea to take a ferry to the island of Porquerolles. Instead of sticking to the timetable, the ferries just went back and forth to take everyone on board. We chose the less beaten path and wer rewarded with beautiful views. We learned about a new plant, that was growing everywhere and quite tasty, the strawberry tree.

What a fun city! Despite the shit weather, We still found a fancy interior designer, a long-established huge kitchen and tool shop, a pottery shop and great Reunionese lunch. Hope to be back one day!
